Dr. Daniel Albert

Dr. Daniel Albert, D.D.S. grew up in Fredericton, New Brunswick in a francophone family. After graduating from École Sainte-Anne, he received his Health Sciences diploma from the University of Moncton. In 1989, he graduated from Dalhousie Dental School -- earning a university medal for the highest standing in the four years of dental school.

While attending Dalhousie Dental School, Daniel joined the Canadian Forces. After graduation, he married Dr. Kilby Townshend and was posted to Lahr, Germany. While in Europe, he had the opportunity to work with a great group of people. In his spare time, he loved biking, skiing and traveling around Europe. He ultimately returned to Halifax with Dr. Kilby Townshend, and together they founded Hammond Dental Centre.

Daniel takes a comprehensive approach to dentistry, offering long-term solutions and a full range of services customized to his patients.

He keeps active through running, skiing and cycling. Daniel also loves cooking and playing the guitar. He is the proud father of three -- David, Andree and Emilie.

Daniel has been very involved with the Nova Scotia Dental Association, is a member of Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Atlantic Implant Study Club, and the Canadian and Nova Scotia Dental Associations. He is a member of the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, and served as president of the Nova Scotia Dental Association from 2008 to 2009. He is a referral dentist for mentally and medically challenged patients who require oral or IV sedation, and for anxious patients who require oral sedation.

  • Dr. Frank Woodbury Memorial prize for highest grade point average (1988-1989)
  • Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics (1988-1989)
  • Americal Society of Dentistry for Children Prize for outstanding student in Dentistry for Children (1988-1989)
